Decide to be Outrageously True to Self
D.O.T.S. of Dopeness is our art enrichment program, open during Winter Break for BCPS. This year, D.O.T.S. will run from December 23rd through December 31st, 2024.
For girls ages 8-13 years old, designed to allow young girls to become self-expressed through intentional arts and acts using the Intentional Creativity® Approach. Self-expression allows confidence and self-assurance to grow and develop throughout one's life.
During the BCPS winter holiday break, participants in D.O.T.S. of Dopeness will learn intentional active meditation through the creation of 2 dot mandalas - 6x6 inch square and 12 inch round. Not only will the finished mandalas give them beauty to hang on the walls of their bedroom, it will also give them the tools of creativity and active meditation that they can return to at any time. Although the program will be creating dot mandalas with acrylic paint, participants can easily create on their own at home with paper and crayons or colored pencils.
D.O.T.S. of Dopeness is designed to instill focus while providing a tool to release what no longer serves the individual. It is a means to help young girls understand that they have within themselves the ability to work through difficult moments that they may experience throughout their lives - and not just as young girls.
