Let's change the way we speak to ourselves, about ourselves, and about our life's experiences...
"Do not give the past the power to define your future." ~Dhiren Prajapati
There are far too many women who have experienced trauma in their lives. I most definitely have - I am a sur-thriver of domestic violence. But we don't have to dwell on those times. We can make a conscious choice about how our story reads.
What would it feel like to speak life into yourself instead of dwelling on what happened 'to' you?
You are not the sum of your experiences. You ARE the experience. A life. A Spiritual Being consciously creating a human experience in this thing we call life. What you experience in this life is not always in your control. But how you express the experiences you have been through in your life is fully in your control.
We often carry shame, hurt, anger, humiliation, and even blame around acts of domestic violence and trauma. However, we are NOT the cause for the acts of others. We experienced something that was outside of ourselves - something that was not in our control. Yet, we speak about the act as if it was meant to be. We become ashamed because it happened to us. We grapple with humiliation because someone did this to us. It is hurtful and embarrassing, but it is NOT our burden to carry.

A New Paradigm...
How about we shift the paradigm of being known as "victim" or "survivor" and breathe love into the experiences that have transpired in our lives? What if you spoke about your Self, your experience, with the voice of a THRIVER?
Moving from a survivor to a Thriver is a re-awakening. It is a transcendence from what was done to us into a victory of our rise from the ashes of what was.
Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.
~Still I Rise, Maya Angelou
Each day, the physical and virtual doors open 30 minutes before the start of our session (each session begins on the hour). Please plan to arrive in this 30 minute window so that you can settle in and begin to become present to this time you have set aside for yourself.
We strongly encourage you to atted LIVE - whether in-person or via livestream - for the best experience. However, for those who are unable to attend live, each session will be recorded and the recording made available within 48 hours.
For those who do not want to bring a sack lunch, there is a restaurant next door to the Gallery which serves Honduras cuisine and is reasonably priced.
Join us at Wysdom Arts Gallery & Atelier or online via livestream for our Opening Red Thread Circle. Sharing our current paradigm, releasing what was, and re-awakening to the possibilities of what can be.
The Circle will last approximately 90 minutes. Please arrive by 6pm so that you can join the Circle as it begins.
Our painting process begins today. No experience necessary. The Intentional Creativity® approach does not require skill or talent. Talent is for the few; creativity is for everyone. We are all innately creative. THRIVE! uses Intentional Creativity - the intentional arts - to process the hard bits and open a portal of possibility for what is now arising. The painting is about the process - not about a pretty picture. Medicine Painting is designed to help you.
There will be a one hour break for lunch. Please bring your lunch - there is a break room available with a dorm-size fridge and a microwave. Water, tea, and coffee will be provided.
Painting completion + writing a new story. The day culminates in a sacred self-initiation ceremony to allow you to step into the persona of THRIVER and Conscious Storyteller, releasing the old persona of survivor. Full transcendence of the old story and image while honoring self and the old story. A reclamation of your Self and a conscious choice to embody a new story as a confident and victorious THRIVER.

Naa Kwarley Amissah is a Certified Intentional Creativity® Educator, Cura, Guardian, Coach, and Guide. She has studied the Intentional Creativity® methodology for more than 10 years and continues to further her studies in this area through continuing education at MUSEA University.
Intentional Creativity came into her life during a time when Naa Kwarley was seeking healing from domestic violence (physical) in her first marriage and the emotional abuse she was going through in her then current marriage. Naa Kwarley firmly believes that Intentional Creativity saved her life. Without the tools of Medicine Painting and intentional arts and the healing those tools bring, she is not sure where she would be today.
Wysdom Arts Gallery & Atelier was birthed from a teaching in Intentional Creativity that Naa Kwarley received when she was attending a class in person at MUSEA Center in Sonoma California circa March 2023. The call to provide a sacred space for herself and other women was made, and Naa Kwarley did not hesitate to answer that call. Wysdom Arts is the manifestation of that teaching weekend.
If Naa Kwarley can cause and create a physical sacred space for women after one weekend, imagine what you can cause and create in your life when you work with her in the Intentional Creativity Approach.
